“A Girl’s Guide To Fairy Tales,” by
Laurey Buckland has a great quote in it about meeting new people:
“They say never judge a book by its cover and
that you only have seven seconds to make a good impression. My time’s nearly
up, but if you are still reading then all I will say is the synopsis can never
tell you the whole tale – you have to turn the pages to discover not everything
is fiction.”
I have
layers and layers of love for that quote and thought it would be a perfect start
in introducing myself to you.
I quit
my job at the end of 2010 to pursue my creative dreams. I desperately wanted to
become an author, and to fulfill a life long desire of learning to play the
piano. Leaving my sales and marketing life as a National Brand Manager was
hard, and I found that moving from such a corporate space into such a creative
one did not happen without a few bumps in the road. But this road is the
happiest path I have ever taken and I don’t regret it for one second.
I have now
completed my first novel, ‘Something Pink’, for which I am looking for a
publisher, and am currently working on my second book. I have also reached Gr 6 in ABRSM piano and am helping teaching part time at my music studio, and
imparting musical knowledge to a handful of my very many nieces and nephews
too.
Other than an obvious love for shoes, the colour pink, and Husband, there
are many things that keep me busy on a day-to-day basis, but, to
paraphrase Lauren Buckland, you are going to have to turn the pages to discover
the full story. I hope you enjoy my blog.

Delighted to have been quoted! And there was me thinking I was only capable of rambling sentences rather than profound thoughts. Perhaps I could give Confucius a run for his money after all? Congrats on the website - it looks fabulous. Where can I get a pair of those shoes?
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren, and thank you for visiting! I look forward to reviewing your book...watch this space :)
DeleteP.S The shoes are not mine, sadly...I merely aspire to them. Christian Louboutin's, I believe?
